Your Role at MMT

  • You will be working in a cross-functional team in an agile environment (with code reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups)
  • You will help build and work with a modern technology stack
  • You will write automated tests and both back-end and front-end code
  • You will deploy code continuously and frequently
  • You will have the opportunity to work closely with product owners, UX specialists, design researchers, and users
  • You will have the opportunity to work in pairs or alone depending on the task at hand
 

What you should bring

  • You have experience in developing complex web applications (backend and frontend)
  • You are familiar with Ruby on Rails or a similar web framework
  • You have experience with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS)
  • You have a good understanding of a relational database such as PostgreSQL
  • You are fluid in English and/or German
  • Knowledge of Elixir and Elm a plus

Work Culture at MMT

We are a remote (within Germany) company but still value face to face meetings such as our monthly company meeting, parties, game nights or cultural events. Every employee is welcome to work from our beautiful office in Hamburg. However, we see it as everyone's own responsibility to decide how often they want to visit our office.

As knowledge transfer is even more important in a remote environment, efficient and fast communication is a key factor for us. For this purpose we use Slack as our main communication tool. 

Teamwork is an essential part of our culture. We emphasize the importance of collaboration and love to work in teams. This helps learning from each other and improves our creativity.

Every team works in cycles of 8 weeks each in an agile environment with code reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups. After the cycles we have cool-off phases which give us time to review our work and freedom for creativity.

We highly value self-responsibility and flexibility which is reflected in our flexible working times and independent task completion. As we are very family-oriented and many of us have children, we know that a certain degree of work flexibility helps a lot combining private obligations with work life.

At MMT, we appreciate passion and growth. This is why we like to help everyone to be the best version of themselves. For this reason, we have regular appraisal, feedback and development talks where needs can be placed. We offer many opportunities for growth such as visiting conferences, trade shows, tech-events or other training options.
